Kapok/Modal blended Handcraft Yarn Characteristics:

Kapok fiber ,famous as"cashmere from tree" is generally about 8 to 32 mm long and about 20 to 45 micron in diameter. It is the finest, lightest, most hollow, and most warm fiber material in natural ecological fibers. Its fineness is only 1/2 of that of cotton fiber, and the hollow ratio is more than 86%, which is 2-3 times that of ordinary cotton fiber. It has the characteristics of smoothness, antibacterial, anti-mite, mildewproof, soft, not tangled, impervious to water, non-thermal, ecological, warm, and hygroscopic.

However, kapok fiber has poor spinnability and is generally difficult to be purely spun. Blended with cotton, viscose or other cellulosic fibers to create a woven fabric with a good gloss and feel. Our 50kapok/50modal blend yarn is specially for baby textile, considering the safty, we add the flame-resistance treatment on the yarn.
